Carina I Rodriguez, LPC

My name is Carina I Rodriguez, and I am a Bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor providing services in both English and Spanish. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of North Texas and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M-Commerce. My clinical experience includes providing individual therapy to adults, and adolescents in a residential setting for clients with high levels of trauma.

I am a client-centered, trauma-informed therapist working from a strengths perspective to empower clients as they move through their healing journey. I use a holistic approach when working with clients by inviting clients to be part of the creation of their own personalized treatment plans and therapeutic goals. I provide a safe space for clients to explore their culture, values and beliefs to gain insight into one’s true self.

I am a strong believer in the importance of using evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions. I have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

I currently provide therapy to adolescents 16 and older and adults. I am culturally competent and work with clients of diverse backgrounds including race, ethnicity, LGBTQA+ and socioeconomic status.  Areas of specialty is trauma including Intimate Partner Violence, PTSD, Sexual Violence, Survivors of Childhood Abuse, Immigration Trauma, Intergenerational and Generational Trauma, Acculturation, Grief and Loss, Depression, Anxiety, and helping individuals gain a clearer understanding of their Family Dynamics and Interpersonal relationships.

I acknowledge that reaching out to seek therapy is a big step, especially around the stigma behind mental health. Together we can break the stigma and create change. I would love to work with you and be one piece to your puzzle in the healing process.
